.

As the SupplyHero, I work with a lot with hospitals and nursing homes. What is the one question I get asked the most? I get asked what I would recommend as a great antibacterial soap that also moisturizes. And I have to reply, “Of course, one of the best is the Technical Concepts Enriched Lotion Hand wash in the TC Flex Skin Care line.”

Five refills to a case, these soaps come in 500 ml containers that have adjustable portion controls of 3 doses (.4ml, .65ml, 1.0ml) giving you up to 1,000 hand washes per refill. The refills are fully ADA compliant and Green Seal® approved for having 80% recycled content. The hand soap containers are fully biodegradable and safe for the environment.

As a hero, I love soaring through the skies on a beautiful summer day. But even a hero has to sit down sometime and actually do some work. During those times I’m in the office, I hate to stare at the boring white walls and I long for the beautiful skies and bright sun. I considered punching a hole through the roof but that would be terrible for my new carpet, so I installed the Skyscapes Fluorescent Light Diffusers into my office.

I must say these things are spectacular. There are a selection of designs to choose from to fit any decor or design scheme. The Skyscape light diffusers come in Polystyrene, Acrylic and Durastrong. Polystyrene diffusers last 2-3 years without yellowing and aging. The Acrylic skyscape diffusers are long lasting with about 20 years before there are signs of yellowing. The DuraStrong diffusers are unbreakable (Remind you of anyone? Hint: Me), they bend and flex but will now break apart. They last between 10-20 years without signs of yellowing or aging. They come in the standard size of 23.75″ x 47.75″ but can be cut down with any regular X-acto knife to fit your fixture.

This light diffusers are perfect for nurseries and day cares, offices, medical offices and hospitals and waiting rooms. They brighten up the viewers day and provide something more than the harsh lighting of typical fluorescent diffusers.

Product(s) of the Day: ITW Dykem Industrial Marking Pens

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

.

I’ve been thinking about getting some new wheels. I can’t fly everywhere and apparently I tend to create a scene (how was I supposed to know that lady would go into hysterics?).  So I went on a tour of a motorcycle factory; I wanted to make sure that the vehicles were being made with quality, safe products. What do I see the workers marking parts with as I made my way through the fabrication department? They were using the ITW Dykem industrial marker pens to mark their metals. I couldn’t have been more proud! Clearly, these people knew quality.

If you are not familiar with the ITW Dymon/Dykem company and their products here is a little background. ITW Dymon specializes in making Industrial MRO specialty chemicals and marking systems. Some popular products they make are the SCRUBS in a bucket, TexPen and Dalo pen. The company headquarters is located in Olathe, KS and they have set a worldwide standard for industrial strength chemicals and products. In other words, no other simply compares.

Dykem products are amazingly diverse and offer a product line that can fit any marking need. Some of my personal favorites include the: Dykem Dalo, Dykem High Temperature, Dykem Ultraviolet and the Dykem Rinz-Off markers.

  • The Dykem Dalo Textile marker is a rugged marker that can write on just about any surface. It writes on metal, plastic, glass, concrete and rubber. This super powered marker also writes through oil, grease and even underwater. Once dry, the permanent ink can withstand extreme weather condition without wearing or rubbing off over time. The marker itself is made with aluminum casing and a stainless steel tip, this makes it heavy duty and able to withstand lots of use. It dries in 25-30 minutes. Watch a demonstration video here.
  • The Dykem High Temperature marker is specially designed for surfaces that are exposed to extremely high temperatures. This marker writes on any non-porous surface and the marks are permanent once heat is applied.  Each color marker represents temperature range.
  • The Dykem Ultraviolet marker is an invisible, opaque dye base ink that is only visible when placed under ultraviolet light. Marks on plastic, glass and non porous surfaces and dries in about a minute.
  • The Dykem Rinz Off Marker is a temporary marker great for quality control workers. it can be removed simply by rinsing or wiping with water. There is also a slightly stronger version called The Dykem Sudz Off marker that can be removed with detergent.
These are the best the industrial marking chemical and equipment industry has to offer. You would be hard pressed to find any other products that compare to the quality and durability of these markers.
But now, back to my search. Should I get a motorcycle with a V-twin or inline sport engine?

Bobrick Washroom

.

It has been a while since I have you gave you some of the history of one of our major manufacturers. I was thinking about all the companies we have worked with and I realized I have never given you all the company history of our biggest seller and most popular manufacturer here at Supply Hero.

Bobrick

Founded in 1906, under the name Bobrick Chemical Company, George Augustus Bobrick created the company to manufacturer waxes, cleaning chemicals and ammonia. To promote his soap products, Bobrick and his son created the first soap dispenser. He received the patent for the soap dispenser in 1908.

The Pullman Car Company, a manufacturer of railway cars, contracted Bobrick to create a soap dispenser that could be used in their train passenger cars. Bobrick created the “Pullman” dispenser and that set him as a pioneer in soap dispensing products. He sold the chemical business and set in a new direction for his company. The rest, as it is said, is history.

By the 1920′s Bobrick sold more than 250,000 soap dispensers. The company had a two page catalog and had a selection of 12 different dispenser models to choose from.

In 1941, Bobrick Company had 30 employees, had sold more than a million dispensers and had created many industry “firsts”. Bobrick created the first wall mount lavatory soap dispenser, first lather dispenser and a 40 fl. oz. tank of a soap dispenser.

By 1961, Bobrick began to expand to other bathroom accessories and products. The company also expanded to become Bobrick International, Bobrick began to sell and distribute its products overseas. Bobrick is perhaps most known for their toilet partitions and bathroom accessories but they did not begin manufacturing and distributing them until 1970. The partitions were innovative because they used a type of plastic with hidden stainless steel hardware. This created a new, attractive image that was different from the metal and stainless steel standard that had been previously set.

Bobrick acquired GAMCO in 2006, GAMCO specialized in stainless steel and metal finish washroom accessories. Bobrick is also the manufacturer of the popular child sanitary solution brand, Koala Kare Products.

Product of the Day “Palmer Fixture BluStorm”

Friday, June 17th, 2011

.

Now, some of you may know but my SupplyHero home base is in Kansas. Its mid-June and summer is just kicking into gear, as always in good ol’ middle America, summertime is storm season. Tornadoes, thunderstorms, windstorms…you name it, we get it. But there is another storm brewing that you should not be afraid of. I actually quite enjoy it, it’s the Palmer Fixture BluStorm hand dryer.

This is one strong, powerful hand dryer that is efficient and good for the environment and your budget. On average it saves the owner 90% versus regular paper towel dispensing and 70% versus standard hand dryers. The BluStorm hand dryer is stainless steel with 120v and 1600 watts of pure power. It dries hands in 10-15 seconds (Almost as fast as me…ALMOST) But you dont have to take my word for it, check out this demonstration video.

Cool huh?

I do feel a little bad for the poor hula dancer though.
